Governor Pritzker Declares Juneteenth a State Holiday for Friday, June 18
Late this afternoon Governor Pritzker announced the state of Illinois will recognize President Biden’s proclamation of Juneteenth as a federal holiday. Therefore, state employees will have Friday, June 18th as an official observed state holiday to commemorate Juneteenth. Additionally, the bill has been signed into law making Juneteenth an official state holiday moving forward.
