The week of February 26 - March 4, organizers from around the country joined members and staff from the Montana Federation of Public Employees for an organizing blitz in six cities throughout the state. During the week, activists held 101 worksite meetings, knocked on over 1,000 doors and welcomed more than 230 new members into the state federation. Held at a pivotal time in the legislative session, activists provided updates and mobilized members to action. On Saturday, March 4, the week concluded with eight Workers are Watching rally parties held with labor leaders and legislators from around the state. The AFT participants in the blitz included members and staff from Alaska, Colorado, Illinois, New York, Maryland, Washington D.C. and Connecticut. The National Education Association also sent participants. MFPE is a joint affiliate of both the AFT and the NEA.
